The Rhode Island Airport Corporation (RIAC) is a governmental agency and public instrumentality of the state of Rhode Island that manages all publicly owned airports within the state. Governed by a seven-member board of directors, the corporation was formed in 1992 as a semiautonomous subsidiary of the Rhode Island Port Authority, which has since become the Rhode Island Economic Development Corporation.
On behalf of RIAC, AvPORTS manages the 5 general aviation airports owned by the state of Rhode Island. The 5 airports include Block Island State, Newport State, North Central State, Quonset State and Westerly State.
